Many are still suffering from the effects of the disaster at the World Trade Center. Organizations that are providing 9/11-related services know that there are many people who were affected by 9/11, who may not be fully aware of the services that may be still available. The New York Committee for Occupational Safety and Health (NYCOSH) is a non-profit coalition of unions, individual workers and health and safety activists - all dedicated to the right of every worker to a safe and healthful workplace.
The World Trade Center Permanency Project has put together a directory of services available in NYC by agencies working with the 9/11 impacted population. The guide includes complete information (names, contact info and services rendered) about organizations providing social services, education, recreation, public benefits, legal resources, mental health and health care clinics in all 5 boroughs.

Foundation President Gretchen Dykstra will present an update on plans for the WTC Memorial and Memorial Museum and answer questions from the public. Get up to speed and make your voice heard on this vital issue.
The City of Bayonne, New Jersey's "Harbor View Park" will be the home of Bayonne's September 11th Memorial "To The Struggle Against World Terrorism," pictured at left. The Memorial was designed by world-renowned artist Zurab Tsereteli and donated to Bayonne by the people of Russia. The Memorial will have a direct line of sight to the WTC site across Upper New York Bay.
The Park is currently under construction, and Bayonne is soliciting sponsors for 8" by 7" paving stones that can be customized. Each "paver" costs $50.00 and can be engraved with up to 78 characters. It is a wonderful way to support the Park while making a personal statement of patriotism, remembrance, or love. Click here to visit the City of Bayonne website for more information, or to order your own "paver."
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has updated the status of implementation of the WTC recommendations on its web-based system which can be used by the public to track progress. A link to "Status of NIST's Recommendations" from the WTC website lists each of the recommendations, the specific organization or organizations (e.g., standards and code developers, professional groups, state and local authorities) responsible for its implementation, the status of its implementation by organization, and the plans or work in progress to implement the recommendations.
The status of the implementation of the recommendations is current as of April 10, 2006 and includes links to the nineteen code change proposals submitted to the International Code Council for the March 24, 2006 deadline and supplementary information produced by the NIBS building code experts. The status information will be updated from time to time to report progress. NIST has also added an update on the status of actions taken or planned by the NIBS building code experts since their February 2006 meeting and a separate page that provides links directly to the nineteen code change proposals.
The Center for the Study of Trauma and Resilience at the New York State Psychiatric Institute and Columbia University is conducting Phase II of the 9/11 Grief Survey among people who participated in Phase I. The survey is aimed at understanding all possible psychological responses to traumatic loss. In order to understand the full scope of the responses to 9/11 experience and to develop treatments to help individuals who suffer from traumatic grief, it is helpful to have as many individuals participate as possible.
Those who have received an invitation to participate and have not done so already are requested to log onto the study website in order to complete Phase II of the study. If you have questions regarding the study please address them to the Principal Investigator Dr. Yuval Neria from Columbia University at ny126@columbia.edu. For help with your password or PIN code you may contact Scott Noonan at scott@smartwebs.com.
