April 13, 2010
Dear Families and Friends,
All of us at VOICES hope you are enjoying the spring weather. April is a busy month for our staff who will host a number of 9/11 Living Memorial workshops in CT, NY, NJ, and MA. This week we travel to Arlington, VA and look forward to meeting once again with families and survivors living in the Washington, DC area. It’s always very meaningful to hear the personal experiences of those who worked at the Pentagon. Please contact our office if you are interested in making a reservation.
In today’s newsletter we have highlighted a number of special events VOICES hosted during the month of March and a beautiful 9/11 quilt created by children in the New Brunswick community. A special thanks to the New Brunswick Free Library for hosting the “September 11: How We Remember” Exhibit and related community events and all those involved for creating the quilt so reminiscent of the quilts made in response to 9/11. We also extend our thanks to Rhianna Quinn Roddy, Director of Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund and Assistant Funds Manager at Rutgers University, Carolann Pierre-Morgan for their informative presentations on scholarships available for the 9/11 families and rescue workers.
In the coming months we have a number of fundraising events that will benefit our efforts to create the 9/11 Living Memorial Project. On May 2nd we are participating in the TD Bank 5 Borough Bike Tour and are fortunate to have over 60 energetic cyclists riding to raise money on our behalf.
On Monday, June 14th we will host our 3rd Annual Always Remember Benefit in New York City. We are very excited that Former Prime Minister Tony Blair has generously offered to be our keynote speaker and are looking forward to his international perspective. Mark your calendars for another memorable evening!! Formal invitations will be sent in the mail, but in the meantime feel free to contact our office if you are interested in attending, sponsoring a table or donating an auction item. All of us at VOICES send our regards and look forward to seeing you in the coming months. Please contact our office if we can be of assistance.
Warm regards,
Mary Fetchet & The VOICES Staff
