My name is Sheri Burkat and I am the new Program Director for VOICES of September 11th, New Jersey office. I hope all of you have had a wonderful holiday and that your New Year is off to a good start!
VOICES of September 11th staff work with 9/11 families, survivors and rescue workers by providing a wide range of support services, programs and information for the 9/11 community. One of our projects is the 9/11 Living Memorial Project which is a digital tribute that chronicles the lives of the 3,000 lost at the World Trade Center, Pentagon and Shanksville, PA. Our staff is currently reaching out to meet with family members in order to have all those who lost their lives on 9/11 receive an honorable and meaningful tribute.
I want to provide you with a link to our upcoming 9/11 Living Memorial Workshops through the month of February 2011. If you have not had the opportunity to submit photographs or memorabilia in honor of your loved one and you are interested in meeting with our staff to create a tribute page, please contact me to arrange an appointment for one of our upcoming events. Upon receipt of your consent, any content you submit to VOICES will be sent to the National 9/11 Memorial Museum in NYC, which is scheduled to be open to the public in 2012. I have also included an attachment that describes the 9/11 Living Memorial project in detail and includes forms that you may choose to print and complete prior to your appointment.
I assume many of you are familiar with our organization and have either received emails or phone calls from VOICES staff in the past. For those of you who may not be familiar with VOICES or our 9/11 Living Memorial project, information is provided on this link.
