This afternoon Attorney General Eric Holder announced that he is referring the cases of the five 9/11 conspirators to the Department of Defense and the trials will proceed in a military tribunal. Last week, Mary Fetchet attended the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearings chaired By Senator Joseph Lieberman and Senator Susan Collins. Governor Tom Kean and Congressman Lee Hamilton, Chairmen of the 9/11 Commission testified before the Committee. Although some progress has been made, the 9/11 Commissioners highlighted several areas that remain unresolved. As you know, these dedicated individuals remain committed to ensuring that the 9/11 Commission reforms are implemented. The link below includes their important testimony.




9/11 Memorial Of Maryland
The state of Maryland will honor Maryland's victims, responders and their families at the Maryland 9/11 Memorial on the plaza of the World Trade Center in Baltimore's Inner Harbor. They have asked that Maryland residents review the names of those they plan to include and to advise them of any corrections. More.

9/11 Commissioners Testify Before Senate Committee
Almost 10 years after the worst terrorist attacks on American soil, Governor Tom Kean and Congressman Lee Hamilton testified before the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee (HSGAC).The record of the testimony can be found here. Terror Intelligence Lacking 10 Years After 9/11, Chairmen Say
U.S. intelligence agencies still haven't completed their transformation into an effective counterterrorism operation almost 10 years after the Sept. 11 strikes, the co-chairmen of a commission that investigated the attacks said. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is struggling to balance its intelligence and crime-fighting responsibilities, said Thomas Kean and Lee Hamilton, the former co-chairmen, in a joint statement to a Senate panel.
