Dear Families and Friends,
 Last week, we received news from Joe Daniels at the 9/11 Memorial that this year's commemoration will be held on September 11th at the National September 11 Memorial in New York City. Family members from both the 1993 and 2001 attacks are invited to participate in the event, which will include a reading of the names. If you are interested in reading names, submit your contact information for the lottery via email cferer@cityhall.nyc.gov or by phone at 212-442-8953.  This Friday, we will host a speaker series event, "Feng Shui: Lifestyle Changes from Inside and Out," at the VOICES New Brunswick office. Laurie Bornstein, Feng Shui designer and lifestyle expert, will teach us to use the energy in our homes as a positive force for healing, in order to create a sense of balance and comfort in our living and working environments. The event will be held at the VOICES New Jersey office located at Kilmer Square, 84 Albany Street in New Brunswick. We are sorry to share the news that Vito Valenti, board member for the FealGood Foundation, has passed away from complications due to his 9/11 related illness. John Feal said that "anyone who knew Vito, loved Vito. His love for life was matched by no other. Vito will be missed, but never forgotten." The funeral arrangements are as follows: Thomas Dalton Funeral Home, 29 Atlantic Avenue, Floral Park, New York 11001 Phone: 516-354-0634. The wake will take place Wednesday 2-5 & 7-9:30, and the Catholic funeral service will be held Thursday, 11am at the Funeral Home. In lieu of Flowers, donations would be appreciated in Vito's name to The Fealgood Foundation. We send our condolences to Vito's wife Christine & son Joey.
In closing, now that the anniversary plans for the 9/11 Memorial have been announced, our staff is working on the VOICES 11th Anniversary commemorative events for our members. As always, your input would be very much appreciated. We will send out a questionnaire later this week, but in the meantime please feel free to share your ideas about how you would like to participate in commemorating the anniversary.
