Dear Families and Friends,

As the September 11th Anniversary is quickly approaching, we want to update you on several important items.

VOICES 13th Annual Day of Remembrance Forum: Promoting Resilience, Healing Families and Communities

At the top of the list, be sure to mark your calendars for the VOICES 13th Annual Day of Remembrance Information Forum to be held on September 10th from 8am to 5pm. The event will be held at the Marriott Hotel, located at 85 West Street, just adjacent to the 9/11 Memorial Museum in New York City.

The theme of this year's event is Promoting Resilience, Healing Families and Communities.

Once again, the day-long Forum will feature panel discussions from subject matter experts who will share their expertise about wellness programs, mental health and medical treatments, and presentations highlighting inspirational stories of resilience. Our partners at the World Trade Center Health Program will be joining us to discuss information about resources available for responders and survivors who lived, worked or went to school in downtown Manhattan.

Responders, survivors, and their families, as well as 9/11 families and service providers, are welcome to attend. Click here to make reservations for the Forum online. For those attending the event, we have blocked a limited number of hotel rooms at the Marriott at the rate of $369.00 per night. Hotel reservations can be made by calling our office at 203-966-3911.

Reading of the Names Ceremony on September 11th

We received updated information from the 9/11 Museum on plans for the thirteenth anniversary that we would like to share with you. On September 11th, the annual ceremony of the reading of the names will take place at the 9/11 Memorial for family members. Family members are invited to participate in the reading. If you would like to participate, please visit 911memorial.org/ceremonyreaders and fill out the online form or call 212-312-8855 by Friday, August 8th. Participants will be selected by lottery and notified directly.

Families will have access to the Memorial and the Museum throughout the day. The Museum strongly encourages advance reservations. They will provide instructions in August on how to make your special reservations. They will also have more information at that time about the anniversary commemoration.

9/11 Memorial Museum Hours Extended

As you probably know, the Museum has already welcomed over 400,000 visitors! Their summer hours have expanded. The Memorial is open from 7:30 to 9:00 and the Museum is open from 9:00 to 9:00 (last entry, 7:00).

When we learn more about plans for the 9/11 anniversary, we will be sure to share them with you. If you would like us to spread the word about your anniversary event, please let us know.
Sincerely,

Mary Fetchet & the VOICES Staff
