Dear Families and Friends,
All of us at VOICES are horrified by the unconscionable acts of terrorism committed by Hamas in Israel. Tragically, more than a thousand innocent men, women and children who were going about their daily lives were murdered at the hands of ruthless terrorists. VOICES condemns these acts of violence and unthinkable savagery.
Those of us who lost a loved one or survived the attacks on 9/11, know firsthand the pain and sorrow of family and friends, and the uncertainty of those injured or held hostage. Many continue to be concerned about the safety of those who remain in the region. This unspeakable tragedy has caused many of us who have been impacted by terrorism to relive the horrors of our personal experience.
During this unpredictable time, it is common to experience a range of emotions, including fear, anger, anxiety, difficulty concentrating, hopelessness, and disrupted sleep. VOICES is offering virtual Community Peer Support Groups, programs and resources.
After 9/11, individuals from around the world stepped forward to provide support, and it was these acts of kindness and solidarity that helped us heal. We offer our heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of those who have died. Along with our partners in the United States and abroad, VOICES pledges support to the victims’ families, survivors and all those impacted, in the months and years ahead.
As always, VOICES staff is available if you need assistance.
With a heavy heart,
Mary Fetchet and the VOICES Staff
