Dear Families and Friends,
This Memorial Day we pause to honor and remember the military personnel who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. In recognition, we are sharing a recent presentation by the authors of Unwavering, who documented the inspiring stories of the Vietnam military wives who fought to ensure that no U.S. military personnel will ever be left behind.
May 30 marks the 21st Anniversary of the end of the 9-month rescue and recovery effort at Ground Zero. To commemorate this milestone, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum is holding a ceremony on the 9/11 Memorial Glade.
June is National PTSD Awareness Month, and we are offering programs to help reduce the impact of this challenging condition. Dr. Elisha Goldstein will join us to discuss, Understanding Resilience: The Power of Connection and Community and Carolina Bautista-Vélez will present Helping the Helper: Understanding Vicarious Trauma and Compassion Fatigue.
For you avid golfers, there are still a few openings for our 9th Annual Golf Outing, which will be held on Monday, June 12 at the prestigious Quaker Ridge Golf Club in Scarsdale, NY. It is always a magnificent event, and we hope you can join us.
Mark your calendars for September 9 and 10! Preparations are underway for VOICES 22nd Annual Remembrance Symposium in NYC, to be held in partnership with Leadership in Counter-Terrorism Alumni Association and the International Network Supporting Victims of Terrorism and Mass Violence.
All are welcome to join us for VOICES virtual programs. Please contact us if we can be of assistance.
With warm regards,
Mary Fetchet & the VOICES Team
