VOICES Hosted its Inaugural 9/11 Day Service Project
In the spirit of the National Day of Service and Remembrance, VOICES was proud to host our inaugural 9/11 Day of Service Project at our 2024 NYC Symposium. Presenters and Symposium attendees alike, took time to assemble 500 Preparedness backpacks that included a variety of items that are useful in the event of an emergency.
The Pack for Preparedness Project was sponsored by 9/11 Day and AmeriCorps. Co-founder of 9/11 Day, Jay Winuk was among the family members, survivors and responders who created backpacks for themselves and paid it forward by assembling backpacks that will be distributed to others. Among the many notable participants - FBI EAD Robert Wells, CNN’s John Miller, NBC’s Tom Winter and Hallie Jackson, and NYPD Deputy Commissioner Rebecca Weiner pitched in! View photo gallery.
