Dear Families and Friends,

Spring has finally sprung!

We are excited to host our inaugural Building Bridges luncheon on April 10th at The Country Club of New Canaan when we will present Emmy Award-Winning journalist Bob Woodruff with VOICES 2024 Building Bridges Award.

Later this month our Meet the Author series welcomes our good friend, Dr Sajjan Gohel who is a world-renowned expert on international terrorism. Dr. Gohel will discuss his recently released Doctor, Teacher, Terrorist: The Life and Legacy of Al-Qaeda Leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri.

Our Golf Outing registration is in full swing. Sign up now for another fabulous day at the glorious Quaker Ridge Golf Club in Scarsdale, NY. The outing will take place on Monday, June 10th, the same week as Father’s Day! A day on the green would be a great gift!

Since spring is a time for growth, rebirth and hope. The theme of this month’s Mindful Moments is Sowing the Seeds for Renewal and Growth.

Finally, we recently lost a very dear friend and VOICES Senior Advisory Board Member - Senator Joe Lieberman. In the aftermath of 9/11 he was a tireless proponent for the formation of the 9/11 Commission, and a thoughtful supporter of our family. Senator Lieberman sadly passed away on March 27th, at the age of 82, and will be sorely missed.

Feel free to contact our office at 203-966-3911 if we can be of assistance.

With warm regards,
Mary Fetchet & the VOICES Team
Remembering Senator Joe Lieberman
Last week we lost a true statesman, a dedicated leader, and a friend to so many. In the aftermath of 9/11, Senator Lieberman was a guiding light for our family. The 9/11 Commission would not have been established, had it not been for his steadfast, bi-partisan leadership.
His unwavering efforts working across party lines with Senators Susan Collins and John McCain and Representatives Chris Shays and Carolyn Maloney led to sweeping intelligence reforms that have made our country safer.

Reflecting on my many fond memories of Senator Lieberman, I will always be inspired by his compassion, integrity, and commitment to faith and family, and in awe of the legacy he left behind. I came across a press conference following the release of the 9/11 Commission Report that demonstrates Senator Lieberman's longstanding determination to "answer the haunting questions that the families of the victims of 9/11 asked us, which were, quite simply, how could this have happened? And what are we going to do as a country to make sure to the greatest extent we can, that it never happens again?" Click here for a link to the press conference

Frank and I attended Senator Lieberman’s service last Friday at the Congregation Agudath Sholom and left deeply touched by the love and respect conveyed by all who spoke. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to express our sincere condolences to Hadassah and their family. Senator Lieberman will be sorely missed, and may his memory be a blessing!
