Dear Families and Friends,

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

During the month of December, we are providing programs that promote well-being during the hustle and bustle of the season. Join us for our upcoming webinar on Navigating the Season: Finding Peace Amidst the Grief, and our monthly Mindful Moment meditation.

The 9/11 Community is acutely aware of the continuing saga of the Guantanamo pre-trial proceedings. Many have expressed confusion about the series of announcements made by the Department of Defense – both the offer of a plea deal and Secretary Lloyd Austin’s reversal of the offer. We are providing a few articles that highlight the diverse positions.

60 Minutes presented an important segment that highlights the work of the Office of the NYC Chief Medical Examiner and the ongoing efforts to identify all of the victims who died at the World Trade Center on 9/11. For those who missed the broadcast, we have included a link.

As holidays approach and the temperature drops, staying prepared is essential. This month we are highlighting preparedness tips designed to ensure the safety of your family, home, and workplace during this festive time.

As always, feel free to contact our office at 203-966-3911 if we can be of assistance.

With warm regards,
Mary Fetchet & the VOICES Team

Approaching the Holidays: Managing Stress and Finding Serenity
Approaching the Holidays
Managing Stress and Finding Serenity

Stress is a common occurrence in everyday life but this year has been particularly demanding for many of us. With the holidays arriving on the heels of the election, that "overwhelming" feeling may seem unremitting. Once Thanksgiving is over, a new rush of demands could emerge as we near the end of the calendar year.

How would you like to not only survive the holiday season, but thrive and connect to your particular observance in a deeper and more profound way? This seminar focused on practical tips and antidotes to support your health and happiness despite the expectations of the season. The webinar was held last month, and we would like to share the recording.
The Promise I Sunday on 60 Minutes - CBS News
“The Promise”
60 Minutes Broadcast

More than two decades after 9/11, over a thousand families are still awaiting identification of their loved ones who died at the World Trade Center site. In this 60 Minutes special, Correspondent Scott Pelley interviews NYC Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jason Graham, the OCME staff and 9/11 family members. The segment highlights ongoing efforts to leverage advanced DNA techniques to fulfill the promise made by former Chief Medical Examiner, Dr. Charles Hirsch in the aftermath of 9/11. Dr. Graham is honoring the longstanding commitment to the grieving families to identify the human remains of all 9/11 victims regardless of the time it takes.
