A Pathway to Healing

Dear Families and Friends,

Sadly, this week New York City suffered the single deadliest tragedy since the attacks on September 11th, 2001. On Monday, four innocent individuals going about their daily routine were brutally murdered, and one person was seriously injured.

We send our heartfelt condolences and offer of support to the families, colleagues and friends of NYPD Officer Didarul Islam, Wesley LePatner (Blackstone), Julia Hyman (Rudin Management), and Security Officer Aland Etienne. Our thoughts are also with the NFL employee who was injured, and we pray for his speedy recovery.

This tragedy brings to light the bravery of those like NYPD Officer Islam and Security Officer Etienne who courageously protect the lives of others. It also reaffirms the focus of our upcoming Symposium that will highlight the critical efforts of those working in law enforcement and counterterrorism to keep our communities safe, and the crucial need for support services for victims’ families and survivors in the months and years following any tragedy.
