VOICES July Newsletter

Dear Families and Friends,

As Independence Day approaches, we hope you are taking time to relax and enjoy the holiday! To our Canadian friends, we wish you a joyful Canada Day!

Registration is now open for VOICES 2025 NYC Symposium to be held on September 9 and 10 at the Marriott Downtown Hotel in New York City. Once again, our flagship event includes presentations by world-renowned, subject-matter experts who will share their professional experience. Mark your calendars and plan to join us in person or online.

One of our goals is to keep our members informed. This month we have invited three individuals who have closely followed and reported on the Military Commissions at Guantanamo Bay. Their personal perspectives will shed a light on the history of the trials and latest developments.

In light of the current global unrest, preparedness is more important than ever. To that end, we are offering regular preparedness workshops for individuals and families.

Our support groups are continuing to grow. If you are interested in joining an existing support group, or would like us to consider expanding our offerings, please complete the form below.

We wish you a safe and celebratory 4th of July. As always, please contact our office if we can be of assistance.

With warm regards,
Mary Fetchet & the VOICES Team

Mental Health Focus

Our theme for the month of July is Self-Compassion - This includes treating ourselves with the same kindness, flexibility and non-judgement we would readily give to others.

Mindfulness is a key component of self-compassion. It is the practice of being fully present of where we are, and aware of what we’re doing. VOICES provides information to promote awareness about self-compassion and mindfulness. Learn more.
