Dear Families and Friends,

VOICES Always Remember Gala is less than two weeks away! We have an inspirational evening planned Honoring Those Who Serve - Rebecca Weiner, NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence and Counterterrorism, and the Vigiano family for their generations of service at the NYPD, FDNY and the military. Limited tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available!

November is National Family Caregivers Month. VOICES Mental Health Matters and Preparedness initiatives highlight the extraordinary dedication of caregivers who provide support “around the clock.” This is an opportunity to recognize the remarkable individuals—family members, friends, and professionals alike—whose compassion and commitment strengthen the fabric of our communities.

At some point in our lives, we all suffer the loss of a loved one. This month, Amy O’Neill-Gregorian will join us with an informative presentation - Grief is Learning. Amy will discuss learning to live with grief, traumatic loss and bereavement while helping us navigate the ongoing journey of healing and finding hope after tragedy.

Due to tremendous interest, we are rebroadcasting the two webinars we hosted last month that provided Updates on the Victim Compensation Fund (VCF). The VCF provides critical funding for 9/11 Survivors and Responders who have been diagnosed with serious medical conditions due to their exposure to toxins in the days and months following 9/11.

VOICES Pack for Preparedness efforts continued last month with the assistance of New Canaan’s Service League of Boys (SLOBs). Many thanks to these young men who assembled preparedness backpacks that will be distributed at our upcoming preparedness workshops.

Finally, VOICES extends a warm welcome to Laura Congiu, our new Master of Social Work intern from Fairfield University. Laura is working alongside our staff to support the 9/11 Community.

As always, feel free to contact our office if we can be of assistance.

With warm regards,
Mary Fetchet & the VOICES Team
